The Schoeneck congregation has a heart for service, and we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. We recognize that our community extends beyond the Nazareth area, and with three cities in the Lehigh Valley there are many opportunities to fulfill our mission to follow the example of Jesus Christ in loving and serving all. Through outreach programs, volunteer efforts, and faith–based initiatives, the church demonstrates the power of compassion and service.

Schoeneck works with area ministry partners to serve our neighbors in very tangible, life–changing ways by giving of our time, abilities, and resources. Whether it’s giving the gift of life through donating blood or providing basic needs to those who are walking through tough times, we believe that serving those around us is essential. Discover below how you can get involved.

Holiday Hope Chest Shoebox Program

Schoeneck participates in the Holiday Hope Chest Christmas Shoebox Program in November every year. Each holiday season, gift–wrapped shoeboxes filled with age–appropriate gifts make a meaningful, positive impact in the lives of underserved youth. The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley manages the logistics of getting the shoeboxes to the non–profit organizations who distribute them. All donations remain within the Lehigh Valley. In 2024, Schoeneck’s congregation donated 37 shoeboxes and 24 gift cards to the Holiday Hope Chest program, which were distributed to 61 children in our area. In addition to donating gift items and/or gift cards, shoeboxes are needed to make the program a success. Watch the bulletins, newsletters, or social media for announcements. Please contact Lori Deutch, Schoeneck’s coordinator, for more information.
